Anchorage Thanksgiving Blessing

Each year the Anchorage faith Community, Food Bank of Alaska, and thousands of volunteers help provide families in need with a turkey and all the fixings.Anchorage Thanksgiving Blessing is Monday, November 19. There are many ways to help! Volunteer, collect food items or donate funds, all efforts help provide a Thanksgiving meal families in need.

Sign up to be a volunteer! Contact organization directly for more information, emails are listed below.  If you need assistance providing a Thanksgiving meal for your family bring proof of address to the site in your zip code. You may attend only one site. It is encouraged to arrive by 7pm if possible.

Organize a food collection! You can contact any of the sites listed for more information. Items needed: Aluminum roasting pans, canned vegetables, cranberry sauce, dinners rolls (packs of 12), gravy mix, pounds of butter/margarine, stuffing mix.

Donate funds- Each turkey costs about $15. A full meal for a family is approximately $45. Donate online at www.foodbankofalaska.org. Check may be mailed or delivered to 2121 Spar Avenue, Anchorage, Alaska 99501
