Celebrating the spirit of the season with the Festival of trees, now at the Dimond Center! Enjoy fun holiday activities while viewing eleven designer-decorated trees on display at the Dimond Mall, street level, regular mall hours, at the North entrance between the new Dave & Busters entrance and Olive Garden Restaurant.
Residents can enter to win via raffle one of the designer-decorated trees, each with unique prize packages including airline tickets from Alaska and Delta airlines, Carrie Underwood concert tickets, Home Depot, restaurant and hotel gift cards and more! Tree packages differ and range in value from $750 - $3,000. Raffle tickets, $10 each or six tickets for $50, are available for purchase Thursday through Sunday each weekend noon - 5 p.m. Winning raffle tickets for each tree will be drawn Sunday, Dec. 9, 5 p.m. The 11th tree, "People's Choice," requires no purchase and includes a prize package worth $750.Free family activities and entertainment will be available each weekend including karaoke, holiday crafts, a FREE Skate with Santa Dec. 2, and a Teddy Bear Health Clinic Dec. 9.
Throughout each weekend, the Holiday Entertainment Stage will include performances from Alaska's finest local talent. Benefiting Priceless & Chosen Nonprofits:The Alaska Festival of Trees benefits non-profit organizations Priceless and Chosen, entities that work with local and state law enforcement agencies to provide safe havens for victims of human trafficking.Human trafficking is a nationwide epidemic with large reach throughout Alaska, being the second fastest growing crime in Alaska. Priceless works with the FBI, Alaska State Troopers and other law enforcement officials to mentor victims of human trafficking, providing a safe haven for individuals removed from trafficking situations. Chosen works with at-risk youth who have aged out of the foster care system and are likely targets of trafficking organizations.
