#GoodNews: High School Basketball Player Gives His Shoes To Opponent

A high school basketball player in Michigan, Matt Montie, noticed a player on the other team was playing in shoes that aren’t meant for basketball. After the game, Matt gave the other player his own shoes, a pair of LeBron James Nikes.

“I just remember not being able to afford nicer shoes for basketball and I know how bad it sucked. Basketball shoes are a necessity. I’ve rolled a lot of ankles not wearing the right shoes for the right things.”

His coach, Terry Fetters, says he’s not surprised by Matt’s move, but he is proud of him, calling him “a good young man.”

Matt says it feels good to help someone out and he hopes the other player likes the shoes.
