BRIAN'S IDEAL PROTEIN THANKSGIVING MENU

So far I've lost 117 pounds-- but possibly more.  This week I am skipping my weekly weigh-in/consultation at You First (link) because they fall on Thursdays and that means Thanksgiving.  So, instead of posting about this week's weight loss, I'll tell you about what it's like being on Ideal Protein during a holiday.  

Many people felt sorry for me because being on a 'restricted diet' means suffering while others are enjoying the fine foods of Thanksgiving.  Well, I grant that I am eating much less each day than I used to and way, way less than my former turkey day binges, but I'm not suffering.



BREAKFAST  

I slept in late and started my day with a Lemon-Chocolate Chip Waffle.  I also had coffee (YES!!!) with an ounce of whole milk, a teaspoon of Stevia, & a sprinkle of cinnamon, and an Ideal Protein Tangerine drink mix.

This delicious treat is made from two Ideal Protein packets-- Vanilla Pudding & Chocolate Chip Pancake mixes, with some liquid egg whites, water, and lemon extract added.   

Sidenote:  I need a slightly larger waffle iron to fit all the batter from this recipe--which is two servings total so I've made breakfast for tomorrow already.

THANKSGIVING TURKEY BURGER

For this meal, I opted for lean ground turkey instead of getting lean,sliced, whole turkey.  Both are allowed as part of the IP plan's daily protein requirement.  Here's a photo gallery of what I did.  Click away-- explanations are in the captions.  

MY THANKSGIVING MEAL GALLERY 

Yes, chips are among the great variety of Ideal Protein foods, as you have seen in the gallery.  So are food bars, chili mix, soups, gelatin, oatmeal mixes, pancake mixes, omelettes, pre-made bottled chocolate & vanilla drinks (that my barista can turn into mochas & lattes!), chicken patties and more.

GIVING THANKS!  

That was my Thanksgiving meal, and now come the thanks.

This holiday, I am grateful for my family, every one of which I am missing as they are missing me-- but each of my loved ones understands that I am only skipping these holiday meals with them while I restore my body to its proper weight and health.  Once that is accomplished, I hope I can spend many more years alive and enjoying their company.   

I am thankful for my friends, colleagues, and my listeners/blog followers for their support and encouragement during my weight loss journey.  I have received nothing but positive vibes which motivate me to succeed.   

I have the deepest gratitude for people who stop me with  comments like, "You're the radio guy who lost all that weight!  You're an inspiration."  That is very humbling and I don't take that lightly, even though it's hard for me to feel like an 'inspiration' when really, all I'm doing is following several simple steps and repeating them each day.  

To those looking for ways to lose weight I say to you, I'M NOT SPECIAL-- IF I CAN DO IT, YOU CAN TOO!  I mean that with every fiber of my being.  

Finally, I'm thankful to Ideal Protein and You First for the plan and the guidance that has taken me from a 313 pound, aching, frustrated, and desperate health risk to a 196 pound, healthy and hopeful human being.  

I'm looking at the home stretch with confidence now-- another 30-35 pounds is what I estimate will get me to my final weight.  Along the way on this journey, I've been joined by several others who saw my weight loss success and have started their own.  Losing weight and sharing the experience with others-- knowing they too will have more time to spend with their loved ones because their health will improve-- THAT gives me a tremendous feeling of joy.  HAPPY THANKSGIVING!! ~Brian
