Over 2 consecutive Saturdays, I biked a 'metric century' ride (100 kilometers) and a true century ride (100 miles). Yeah. Me. This body. 50 years old.
It's hard to grasp the magnitude of the changes in my life over the last year after losing 151 pounds.
Back in April 2017 I weight 313 pounds and landed myself in the Emergency Room with unidentified stomach pains. I'm still paying for some of that treatment. I was zoning out at work, and my home was a shambles because I had zero energy to clean or repair anything.
I was overweight, unhealthy, and unhappy. It that point I realized I was dying more than I was living.
Then, I found You First and the Ideal Protein Protocol. (link)
At times, the change is overwhelming. I still haven't gotten used to seeing myself in the mirror each morning. I run my hands over my flattened middle-- half expecting to feel that waistline that was pushing size 50" pants (now 32")

The Clean Air Challenge was a cold, wet, and FUN ride and I can't wait to do it again next year with Team iHeartRadio. Thanks to everyone who donated, volunteered, and rode for the benefit of the American Lung Association in Alaska.
